Lonely

"Really?" Ariana asked Briannon as she told her stories about her mother's house, "You could always come spend the night. It's not like we don't have enough room." Ariana thought for a few mintues, but couldn't think of anything to say. Finally, she decided to ask about the dress, "I love your dress by the way, where'd you get it?"

Noticing the way she was looking across the room at two certain boys, Ariana's mind clicked. If this girl was heartbroken, she could help. "So, which one of them is your boyfriend?"

Briannon grinned when Ariana offered that. "I would love to. You can always come over to my house too. Its the oldest house in Rosewood. Its alright in my opinion." Briannon laughed slightly. "Oh, this? It was my mother's dress. I think she bought it at a second hand store in New York. I couldn't find anything else so I threw on this. I really love your dress though, its beautiful!" Briannon explain, smiling.

"Oh, well, I'm sorta dating Daemon. He's the one talking to the curly blonde one." Briannon sighed. "I have a lot of crap going on with the other one though." Briannon stated, hoping she could trust Ariana.

"Oldest house in Rosewood? Neat." Ariana nodded at Briannon's description of her dress. A secondhand shop in New York...Ariana had never actually been inside one of them, but had heard plenty about them. "I'm from New York, actually."

"Lots of crap?" Ariana laughed, "I just broke up with my ex, actually. He was cheating on me. As for Daemon, he looks pretty into the other one. Maybe you should talk to him. I could always whack some sense into that girl for you."

Briannon shrugged. "Its alright. I think its haunted though for some reason" Briannon laughed, but then smiled when Ariana said that she lived in New York. "I've been there a few times. I love it. I wish I could live there. But, alas, I'm cursed to live in Rosewood forever and ever." Briannon sighed dramatically, making it seem like she was really distraught of it.

"Yep. There's a lot of drama between us. I'm sorry about your ex. It sucks when that happens." Briannon laughed when Ariana said that. "No, its fine. I'm not in a position to have a boyfriend anyway. Besides, if they are happy, then all the more power to them."

Ariana nodded, "I suppose I needed to get out of the city with all that happened between me and my ex. It was pretty messy."

Aria almost laugh when she brought up the fact of the two being happy, "I don't think you're the type of person who would really hurt someone else." They had talked about boys, dresses. "So you are going to Rosewood, right?" Ariana almost smacked herself at the stupidity. It was the only high school in the area. "Okay, sorry, that was stupid. What classes are you taking?"

Briannon gave Ariana a slight smile. "I'm sorry. It must've been horrible if you had to move." Briannon stated, feeling bad for Ariana.

"I'm not or at least I try not to be." Briannon shrugged. She really wasn't like that, but it seemed like sometimes she manages to hurt people without knowing it. "My mom is the principal and my dad is the gym coach. I kinda have to go to Rosewood." Briannon joked, laughing. "I'm taking every class. I guess I'm a nerd."

Ariana smiled, "It actually wasn't that hard to move. I mean, of course I miss the city, but it's nice to get away after all that happened. This is a beautiful town." She wasn't lying. Rosewood was beautiful, and when fall came and all the maples and oaks changed colors it'd be even more amazing. Ariana loved it already, not to mention the boys.

"That must suck. You can't get in trouble, can you?" Ariana smirked jokingly, "That doesn't make you a nerd. Just smart. How about extracurriculars?"

Briannon listened to Ariana closely. "I love it here. Its just so small, you can't escape anything." There was a deeper meaning to Briannon's words then Ariana could probably imagine. It was hard leaving here your whole life. Briannon shrugged slightly, not wanting to seem like a downer.

"Its not that bad. Its a little annoying knowing your mom can decide who are your friends or not by handing them detentions on a silver platter. But, its not awful. I am going into Glee Club. I would love to be on the soccer team and volleyball team, but...." Briannon trailed off, not knowing if she should say it or not.

Ariana nodded. The girl sure was right about the town being small. "I found this place in the woods the other day, behind my house..." Ariana's voice got a little more quiet as she remembered everything that had been in the hole. She wondered if she should tell Briannon everything, then thought the girl seemed trustworthy. As much as she knew backstabbers, someone needed to know. "It was a hole, buried under a bunch of leaves. Turns out, it was a tunnel. I crawled in and followed it, before running into a forked end. I went right, and...I got led into this little room.

"There was a burning candle, and a book. I have it with me, I'll show you later and finish." Ariana stopped and took a large breath, realizing she was talking too much. "Sorry, I talk so much! Anyways, go on. But what?"

Briannon listened in awe. "I've heard stories about a place like that from older students. I've always wanted to find a place like that." Briannon was amazed that Ariana, a new girl, had found what everyone in Rosewood looked for. The tips of Briannon's fingers tingled like they always do when she gets excited. "I would die of happiness of you showed me it."

"Oh, I am just.." Briannon trailed off. She had a feeling she could trust this girl, so she said it. "Well, I'm pregnant. That's why I can't play sports."

"Wow! Are you serious? You're not even showing!" Ariana exclaimed, shocked at the girl's news, "Who's the father?"

Ariana stumbled slightly at the other half of her response. "Briannon, what was in there...it's...it's not so innocent." Being a normally confident girl, vulnerability was something she rarely showed. "Here, I'll show you now." She pulled the old, tattered journal out of her bag, flipping it open to the first page. She began to read the first entry in a whisper so no one else could hear her.

April 16th.

Tonight is the night. I'm going to do it.

The girl will die.

Wish me luck.

Briannon smiled and shrugged. "I'm only about eleven weeks. I'm not going to start showing until school starts." Briannon rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "Well, I'm not really supposed to say anything, but its Alex Vander. The Glee Club teacher." Briannon felt like she could trust Ariana.

Feeling her jaw drop when Ariana read the passage, Briannon scoffed. "Holy shit, it seems as if things are getting a lot more interesting this year. Who knew Rosewood had so many secrets." Briannon was impressed that Rosewood was hiding something like this. "If its not too forward, I would love to spend the night soon and find this place with you. Sounds scary amazing."

"Are you serious?" Ariana asked, her jaw dropping, "Someone's a little slut! In the nice way of course." Ariana smiled to show she was only joking. She was sure it was an accident, no one would get pregnant on purpose, not at sixteen.

"Sure as hell." Ariana replied, "You could spend the night whenever. Tonight, even, if you wanted to." Thinking about the possibilities, tonight would seem reasonable. Everyone was at this school thing, it'd be totally quiet. "Actually, that's not a bad idea."

Briannon laughed. "That's me. The resident slut!" Briannon liked Ariana's sense of humor. It was a lot like her own. Briannon knew not to be offended by the girl's comment. It was nice and wasn't like she was trying to hurt her. Briannon could see herself being close friends with the girl.

"My mom wouldn't mind me spending the night tonight. She probably wants me to be a teenager while I still can. I'll just have to send her a text and ask her." Briannon pulled out her phone and quickly asked her mom if she could spend the night with Ariana. Of course, her mother texted back saying that was fine and if Briannon needed clothes that the spare key was under the rose plant on the deck. "She said I can come. Let's get going, we can come back later. I doubt this party is ending any time soon."
